Job Placement and Finances

Finances and Budgeting Employment and finance challenges are often barriers to reaching couple and family goals. Family Expectations continues to develop its program with plans to add employment training and services as well as child support education and solutions. Below you will find information on workshops to help you budget and manage your finances to reach family goals and gain financial independence.

Budgeting and Finances

Money means different things to different people and there is no denying that we all need it to live. Learning how to manage finances consistently is often a challenge for couples. Dream Big Live Small financial education workshops are aimed at giving FE couples financial hope. These workshops are lead by Kevin Shahan, a Certified Financial Planner. Kevin has helped thousands of families manage their resources during his 25-year career in the financial world and has found that the majority of people don't need investment advice; they need fundamental “making it to the end of the month” advice.

Dream Big Live Small

Dream Big Live Small workshops are delivered to couples in a three-part series. Some topics include:

  • Building a vision for your family’s future
  • Tracking the financial choices you make everyday
  • Creating a monthly budget

Healthy marriage and relationship skills are reinforced during these workshops, such as practicing healthy communication when talking about finances and making decisions as a team.
